Black Widow Promotions got together with Darklands & Grape Escapes to present something a little different this winter….

MidWinter Wines was an evening of wine tasting ~ or rather wine drinking that took place in Bedern Hall, York just before the MidWinter Solstice this year. We would like to thank all the creatures of the night who attended the event, getting goth’d up to the nines the an evening of decadence and debauchery, supping some of the worlds finest wines.
Bedern Hall is a 14th century chapel-like building, all long dark wood banquet tables and vaulted ceiling arches. This beautiful venue was perfect for a bring a slice of gothic medival ambience to the proceedings.
Black Widow would also like to thank Geoff Walker of Grape Escapes who supplied the wine and gave a conducted tasting of each, that is to say he gave a talk revealing little known secrets about vineyards, production & manufacture, history and anecdotes making for a very entertaining drinking session.
Also on the Thank You’s list is Jared & Anna of Darklands, who helped promote the evening and acted as ticket agents as well as supplying a gorgeously dark soundtrack to the evening which smoudered away in the background deepening the ambience in the already amazing Bedern Hall
The children of the night stayed until the witching hour and when all the port and nibbles had all been consumed hurried off the local pub for last orders… Thank you to everyone who came and made this event a success and we hope to see yoou next time ……. ^”^
